Kinky Crafts: 4ft single tail out of 4mm rope...

So after playing around with some old rope I had used in practicing my bondage, it occurred to me that one could rather easily create a whip by gathering up lengths of rope at steadily increasing length and then wind another very long length of rope around the bundle to create the necessary taper for proper whipping action.

After a test run with the old rope, I went out and bought 70ft of 4mm (what I believe to be a poly/nylon blend) rope to test this. The result:

Not much to look at... a little lumpy... but it works like a charm and cracks almost as well as my signal whip crafted by people who actually know what the hell they are doing! And seriously, ya can't beat a $4 single tail!! :)

All the following steps are referencing a poorly drawn diagram that can be found here:
DIAGRAM!

1) I cut four lengths of rope three of them I cut at about 4ft and the fourth is six inches longer. All four lengths I folded over in different places on the length of each -- at decreasing intervals of six inches. The fourth length I also folded the last, extra six inches over at what will become the thinnest end of the whip.

2) I then bundled all the lengths together. Notice how the taper is formed? The thickest end of the whip has a total of 8 strands and every six inches the whip is one strand thinner until the last six inches which are only two strands thick.

3) This step just further illustrates the tapering width of what will be the core of the whip. Notice how on the thinnest end there is a little loop that looks like the eye of a needle? That is just an exaggeration I made to demonstrate that the end of the whip is not an end of a strand of rope, but the place where we folded the extra six inches back down the length of the whip.

4) I then wrapped the core of the whip with a little electrical tape (represented by the yellow squares) at each place where a strand terminated and the whip reduced in width. This was mostly to keep the strands that make up the core of the whip together while I worked.

5) I then took the rest of my 4mm rope (represented by the pink lines) and wrapped the entire length of the whip in a VERY TIGHT coil. Please see the photo I linked to above for further illustration. I put in a couple overhand knots to anchor this rope before I started wrapping. The loose end of the rope I folded under and was covered up by the coil. Sorry, I didn't really illustrate this part.

6) The entire length of the whip is covered by a tight coil. I couldn't honestly tell you how much I used. I just kept wrapping until I was done. I then made a couple of more knots to anchor the coil on this end, as I had at the beginning of the wrapping.

7) Finally, I took the loose end and slid it through the loop end and tied another knot around this loop to hold it in place. About six inches beyond that, I tied another knot and let the remaining rope fray to create my popper.

And that's it! It was actually quite simple and sounds harder than it is. It's just difficult to explain the process I went through. I'm thoroughly satisfied with the results. I mostly did it because I thought it would be an amusing challenge, but it turns out to be a pretty decent toy!

Rexlace Flogger...

For my second ever attempt at flogger creation I decided to use tons of black rexlace. (The flexible plastic stuff that kids make bracelets from).

1) I cut many, many strands of rexlace approx. 52" in length (the amount you use will depend on how full of a flogger you want... I just kept cutting until I used the whole spool of rexlace ;)

2) I grouped the strands and folded them in half, sliding a 1" O-ring in the center to make an attractive way to hang the flogger.

3) I then wrapped several feet of 16g vinyl-coated electrical wire down the length of the folded rexlace starting at the -ring and working to the business end of the tails. When I got to the desired length, I then wrapped back around just another inch or so to help secure the wire and place and make an attractive top "knot."

4) I then TIGHTLY wound electrical tape up the entire length of the shaft to keep the wire in place.

That's all and now I have an evil little flogger that stings like a bastard! My method of doing the handle is simple and highly effective. This one turned out MUCH better than the synthetic hair flogger I last posted about.

And speaking of which... I DID end up using tool dip on the last synthetic hair flogger handle because the electrical tape was losing it's grip. I will likely have to do the same to this rexlace flogger, but will not need to use as much, as my craftsman ship was much better the second time around.

Also, the use of the o-ring adds a lot to the finished look of the flogger. I will definitely be using them from this point on.

DIY hair flogger

A while back I bought a ton of synthetic hair from ikickshins.net because it was on sale and I got it in my head that one of the kinky toys I'd like to DIY was a hair flogger. Since having the hair, however, I'm wracked my brain trying to think of the best way to create a handle. I've gone through several experiments, but nothing has really worked. Then I got it in my head to wrapped the end tightly in 16g coated wire and hold it into place with some electrical heat shrink wrap. Unfortunately, the biggest size I could find at Domme Depot was too small, so I needed another way to hold the wire tightly in place. So electrical tape was the answer!

I still may give it a quick dip in some black Tool Dip, just to make sure that it is nice and sealed. But even in it's current state it is secure and I'm quite proud of it! Unfortunately, all my experiments has left the hair a little tattered and torn. I need to trim the edges and find a way to keep the synthetic hair from tangling so badly. :\

It feels very nice. >:)

I used black, dark purple and some UV reactive light purple in the flogger. I will next create one that is black and pink. :)

I am now an official member of MOB! And I am absolutely ecstatic! A great group of kinky people and I'm excited to see where this leads. To lot's of naughty fun, I can only hope. (And maybe meet the slave girl of my dreams?!)

Only 11 more days until the Flea! And my 30th birthday to boot! The great thing about being a Domme: on my birthday I'm not the one getting spanked. ;)

Maybe if you are around Friday the 13th, you'll be blessed with thirty whacks from my big black paddle.

Photo Shoot...

My first Dommy Photo shoot was a total success! I had a great time, if not slightly awkward. Princess Kali and Tammy (of Rubicat Design and Photography) were absolutely fabulous! It was an incredible experience and I already can't wait for the next shoot!

Out of the hundreds of photos taken, only a dozen or so made the final cut. Unfortunately, all the pics of me with my play knives didn't come out well (not flattering angles), so that is a huge bummer. There was also tons of other poses and toys utilized but those pics didn't make the cut either. I'm really glad so many of pics with the aluminum paddle came out so well. I freakin' love that toy! Has got to be one of my favorite play things in Kali's space.

Polished metal makes me horny. >:)
